[YELLOW]

[YELLOW] is an Adventure Battle Royale game where dueling wizards master their art of Domino magic as they hunt for the Orbs of Power. There are 2 modes of play; a solo/co-op adventure (mini-campaign 4/2 ‘sessions’) and a 2-6 player Battle Royale Mode. (last player standing wins, no player elimination, ‘team ghosts’ could be the last player standing)

Adventure Mode & Battle Royale are essentially the same game, but with a different focus depending on player count. Each with some slight setup changes depending on mode/player count. 

PLAYER SETUP

Pick a color. Take your player board, starting action tiles, wood tokens, damage counters, and starting dominoes. 

[Battle Royale] – Set aside Ghost tokens and trackers. 

Set up Turn order track (2+ players)

BOARD SETUP

Take base maps 1-4 (+5-10 for 2-6p), shuffle and arrange on the table. 

Shuffle Shape Tokens and place in the center of the base maps. Set aside remaining for market. 

Shuffle Hex Tiles face-down and fill out the base map. Set aside remaining for market. 

Set the Market board up, placing shape tokens and 2 of each component (action tiles, hex tiles, and player (white) dominoes on the board. (combine market boards if playing 5-6p)

Setup Minor and Boss Enemies. For Adventure, pair 3 minor enemy cards with 1 Boss card (4). For Battle Royale pair 1/2/3 (6-5p/4-3p/2p) minor enemies with 1 Boss.(4) Stack enemy HP tiles nearby.

Shuffle enemy dominoes face down and set aside.

You’re ready to play. 

HOW TO PLAY

Players take turns in clockwise order.

On your turn you must take 1 action.

Using the available action tiles in your hand, orientate it to the action you’d like to take and place it in the left-most slot in your Action River (above your player board) (This may cause previous actions to slide to the right, any that fall out of the river return to your hand)

Then take the action. All actions are ACTION X, X value may have other adjustments depending on a player’s board state. All actions are ‘up to X’, where X is a minimum of 1, and must be achieved if played. Actions are: 

  • MOVE-Move up to X spaces away from your current position. (Spaces can be shared, this gives enemies +1 DEF)
  • HURT-Attack an enemy up to X times within range.(Range is -1 Energy spaces away)
  • FLIP-Flip up to x different hex tiles adjacent to you (max 3)(Tiles can be flipped again)
  • FIND-Take up to x hex tiles that are flipped up and adjacent to you and add them to your player board.(If your board is full, you can’t take this action)
  • TAKE-Take up to x objects from the market based on the shapes adjacent to you, one at a time. (Market offers 2 options with each take. After taking 1, the other is discarded, and refreshed to take again if available)
  • HEAL-Remove up to X damage tokens from your board OR slide up to X action tiles 1 space in your action river. (X can not be a mix of the two options)
  • READ (expansion)- Draw up to X cards in your current tier or the one above. Choose 1 to keep, discard the rest. (Once you move up a tier, you can no longer check a lower tier)
  • GAIN (expansion)- Gain up to X cards from the Spell Deck and play 1 (beneath player board, left-most space)(remaining spells are kept facedown and can be spent as energy on future turns.)

When taking the action for your turn, you may also spend stored energy to boost the action. Every 2 energy spent gives you +1. When hurting an enemy, you may spend up to 2 energy to boost an attack +1/2. 
After you’ve taken your action, you may optionally spend 2/4 energy to regain 1/2 starting dominoes back onto your board. 


Each time you cover up an energy symbol with a domino on your player board, you’ll gain 1 energy. 

Once you’ve collected a Hex Tile and added it to your energy ring (starting in the 6 space and working down) any time you gain energy past the highest number available in your energy ring, you’ll gain the benefit on the tile. (for example, if your max energy is 3, you’re at 3 and you gain 2 energy. The energy tracker moves to the 5 spot and you’ll get the bonus of that tile, then it moves to the 4 spot and you’ll get the bonus of that tile, then it stops on the 3 spot)
